A symbol used in Native American cultures, the medicine wheel is made up of four equal quadrants representing the four directions, the four races, the four seasons and the four sacred mountains. The center of the medicine wheel represents the self. Also called “The Sacred Hoop”, the Native American medicine wheel symbolizes the life journey that each of us undertakes. The Medicine Wheel can be seen in many different forms, from works of art to large physical constructs that allow for deep contemplation while walking through them.
